First check this out, and then order and read this. Carl Sagan has always done a great job of making us look pretty ridiculous for quibbling over natural resources, weapons of mass destruction, and whose god(s) might be real.
On a side note, I’ve been watching a lot of Battlestar Galactica lately. What a concept: the human race unified behind the common goal of preserving the species. For now, only in a sci-fi production, I’m afraid.
